Carrie Hartunian Smith is a natural working alongside business owners and entrepreneurs keeping one goal in mind: building their business! Having a diverse background in retail, hospitality (resorts and restaurants), event production/promotions (both profit and nonprofit organizations), her 20+ years in executive management and passion for media and marketing has been the dominant motivation in her professional life.

Specializing in company start-ups, as well as large departmental reorganizations, Carrie was an integral part of an innovative startup media company, Apex Media, in 1993. Within their first year Apex Media had grown to over 20 accounts bringing in $8Million in annual revenue. Eight years later, that number had grown to nearly $100 million in revenue. In 2007 Apex Media was sold to Cross MediaWorks, LLC and the new venture capital backed organization asked Carrie to stay and work with the newly restructured organization. During her career with them, she was instrumental in advancing a very aggressive acquisition strategy to expand their business. Within eighteen months of implementing the revamped acquisition program, Cross MediaWorks acquired 5 additional media companies and increased their revenues to over $350 million, a 250% increase.

Having worked in all facets of the Direct Response industry (long and short form media, radio, TV, Performance Based, as well as growing an unwired national network) Carrie has had the privilege of working with many top ranked media organizations in the industry, such as Guthy Renker, Beachbody, Feed The Children, Dr. Charles Stanley, to briefly mention a few.

As a highly regarded, dynamic and multi-talented business executive, Carrie develops strategies to support accelerated growth in highly competitive industries. Recognized as a talented and accomplished leader, she creates and executes strategic plans, direct integrations, marketing automation, manages projects and establishes benchmarks for success. Several of her Fortune 500 clients are multi-national and she provided services ranging from strategy consulting to operational execution excellence including mergers and acquisition implementation. With experience in working with the cultures of over 14 countries, she brings an international perspective to any client seeking to improve and expand their business.

Highlights from her career include a remarkable 1,200%+ increase in a NASDAQ-listed company’s share price achieved in a 12 month turnaround timeframe; saving $13 million in annual customer support costs for an institutional client ; restructuring a $24 million+ increase in annual revenue for a once lackluster global services organization; selling a previously failing and near-insolvent Hi-Tech company for nearly $100 million in 18 months; and producing 14 consecutive quarters of revenue and margin growth for another Hi-Tech NASDAQ company.

She has guest lectured at Rice University’s MBA program on Leadership in the 21st Century and has been an international keynote motivational speaker for several non-profit events as well as speaking for a Financial Services Company at their Annual Women’s Conference.
